Hi APRA,
Just listened to this podcast after being told about it by a friend. I wanted to fill in the blanks about the interior bathroom window.
The small house across the street from the big house that you investigated is called the Joe Lee Allen House #1. It was originally on the spot where the larger house (Joe Lee Allen House #2) is located. The small house was moved across the street so that the larger house could be built. The first floor bathroom has a window on an interior wall for ventilation. They didn’t have electric ventilation fans in bathrooms in 1906 so they put in windows whether they opened on an interior or exterior wall. They are called transom windows. The large house wasn’t added onto. It was constructed just as it is now. Small changes have been made to the interior through the years.
I think I remember someone telling me about a chair scooting and everyone hearing it but I didn’t get a chance to hear a recording of it until listening to the podcast. That was really cool. Mark and I wanted to find out when you will be able to send us your findings?
Hope all is well in Little Rock. Happy Hunting.
